The Center for Human Development and Innovation is established as an independent organization dedicated to investigating complex human development challenges facing Nepal, countries in South Asia, as well as countries in other regions of the world (in that priority order). The Center focuses on (a) research on and advice based on global good practices for education policy development and reforms; (b) education and effective dissemination of empirical findings; (c) country-specific policy-oriented research, advocacy and knowledge management; (d) executive and professional development programs to address capacity constraints in the education sector; and (e) promotion of education and human development agenda through targeted leadership training.
The Center will provide a platform to bring together theory and practice, research and application, and partnerships between practitioners and academia to help address the most complex human development challenges. This will require thinking “out of the box” and promoting innovations. The Center will be affiliated with various academic, research, and policy institutions of global stature. It seeks to set a gold standard for research, policy analysis, communication, and leadership development in the region. It would also help contribute to new global knowledge on what work and how to scale up cost-effective solutions.
