IIDS provides intensive internship opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students in the field of socio-economic development. If you want to pursue a career in socio-economic research, then IIDS might be a perfect destination for you. The candidates are selected on a competitive basis. The internship is typically provided for 2 months with possibilities of extension. During the internship period, the candidates are expected to support the research unit as well as administrative unit in their activities and are required to write and present a research paper on a topic of their choice. The internship certificate is only provided on successful completion of these activities. Further, those showing high capability during the internship period may be provided an opportunity of full time employment as researchers at the institute.

Funded Generously through a Ford Foundation Endowment, IIDS awards scholarships to women scholars to pursue their research studies at post graduate levels (Masters and PhD) in the field of socio-economic development in Nepalese Universities. IIDS awards scholarships to promising young Nepali female students to complete their Thesis.
