The Human Capital in the Age of AI: A Dialogue for Nepal, held on April 7, 2026 at the IIDS Campus, successfully brought together policymakers, educators, researchers, and private sector representatives to engage in a timely and forward-looking discussion.

The dialogue explored the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) on Nepal’s workforce, highlighting sectors and occupations vulnerable to disruption, while also identifying emerging opportunities in an AI-driven economy. Participants reflected on the existing gaps between current workforce capabilities and future skill demands, as well as structural challenges within Nepal’s education and training systems.

The discussion emphasized the need for adaptive policy frameworks, stronger alignment between education and labor market needs, and strategic investments in skills development to ensure inclusive and resilient growth. The event concluded with a shared understanding of the importance of Nepal-specific, actionable pathways to strengthen human capital in the age of AI.

We extend our sincere thanks to all participants for their valuable contributions.
