The Role of the Private Sector in Medical Education in Nepal

The Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS) successfully hosted a research and policy dialogue on “The Role of the Private Sector in Medical Education in Nepal” on 2 July 2026. The event featured a keynote presentation on the systemic trade-offs of private medical education, followed by an engaging panel discussion on balancing educational quality, equity, and economic sustainability in Nepal’s health sector. The dialogue brought together researchers, health professionals, policymakers, and development practitioners to exchange evidence-based perspectives on the future of medical education in Nepal.
