IIDS is proud to partner with G.I. Solar Limited, Nepal’s pioneer in utility-scale agrivoltaics, through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding. This collaboration focuses on promoting agrivoltaics research, climate-smart agriculture, clean energy integration, and community empowerment.

Advance interdisciplinary research in agrivoltaics Build local capacity through training and knowledge-sharing Promote sustainable land use and food-energy synergy Develop evidence-based models for policy and practiceDevelop evidence-based models for policy and practiceNepal’s NDC 3.0 sets ambitious targets for solar power expansion, requiring large areas of land, much of which remains underutilized or left unused. This partnership seeks to unlock the potential of agrivoltaics to simultaneously harness solar energy and enhance agricultural productivity on these lands, addressing emerging challenges and creating resilient, sustainable systems.
