Rapid Feedback Assessment of Nepal’s Digital Transformation
- Partners: World Bank Group Nepal
- Year: 2024
The primary aim of the assessment was to gather rapid feedback on the effectiveness and challenges of Nepal’s digital ecosystem. By capturing user experiences across diverse regions and professional groups, the study offers a detailed understanding of how digital transformation impacts communities, identifying opportunities and barriers in accessing and utilizing digital systems. Additionally, the study complements previous sectoral analysis by providing evidence-based insights from service users, bridging the gap between high-level policy evaluations and ground-level realities. These findings serve as actionable input for developing inclusive and effective digital strategies.
The assessment utilized a survey-based approach, involving 1,684 participants from all seven provinces, representing the Mountain, Hill, and Terai ecological regions. The sample included three main professional groups—farmers, jobholders, and entrepreneurs—with sub-groups such as teachers, health workers, students, and business owners to ensure diverse perspectives. Data was collected from 84 clusters across 42 urban and 42 rural municipalities in 42 districts, using Probability Proportional to Size (PPS) sampling to achieve statistical robustness.
The survey was conducted through telephone-based interviews, with the data collection process digitized using the Kobo Collect application. A dedicated team of 16 enumerators and three IIDS staff members engaged in the assessment.
